Spring/Fall Facilitated Programming

Canoeing

This is the chance to take your group out on Clearwater Lake and enjoy paddling out as far as you can! Basic canoe instruction is available. Lifejackets and paddles are provided.

Kayaking

Groups participating in kayaking will take part in an introductory instruction designed for beginners. All participants must participate in a wet exit.

Swimming

NLS trained and certified lifeguards will be on hand to watch your group while swimming. Our swimming area is sectioned off into deep and shallow areas, and includes a waterslide.

Challenge Course

The Challenge Course is an experiential learning course that develops team unity, communication and problem solving skills in all participants. A group is only as effective as their ability to work together during challenges. The newly built and redesigned challenge course will provide the group with a variety of problem solving activities and challenges. Only through efficient team cooperation will success be achieved. Trained instructors use the low ropes elements to facilitate the group through cooperation, communication, and problem solving skills.

High Ropes

If Tarzan Swing, Hour Glass, and Burma Bridge are new ideas to you, then come and stretch your comfort zone at our high ropes course. Perched 30 feet off the ground, in beautiful hardwood forests, the high ropes course will challenge you to reach new heights. In a safe, instructed environment the staff will facilitate the group through a variety of challenging activities. As much as personal limits will be stretched, we guarantee that your group will be drawn closer together with each new climber.

Low Ropes

Various low rope elements are used to facilitate the group through cooperation, communication, and problem solving skills.

Archery

This activity includes instruction and practice with bow and arrow facilitated by Pioneer Outdoor Education Instructors.

Mountain Biking

Groups will be driven to the Mountain Bike Shop at Boys Camp, where they will be fitted for a bike and a helmet. After everyone has their equipment, they will receive instruction on the safe operation of a mountain bike before riding the trails.

Guided Hike

This activity provides groups with the opportunity to explore part of the 1000 acres of beautiful mixed woodland surrounding Pioneer. Our instructors will make the hike as leisurely or challenging as you would like. At the end of the class, participants will be given some time to practice their newly acquired skills.
