Amy Dempsey, born to missionary parents in Bolivia, is the Director of Inter-Varsity Pioneer Women’s Programs and has led many seminars around Ontario. It gives Amy great joy to see women, men, young people and children grow in their understanding of God’s word and its application to daily living. Amy has a background as an educator and was involved for many years in the summer ministry of Pioneer. She envisioned and implemented the Special Needs Program and the Women’s Programs. She has directed a number of the children’s camps at Pioneer including Adventure (formerly Junior) Camp. Before moving full time to direct the Women’s Programs she served as the Assistant Director of Summer Programs at Pioneer Camp. She is an instructor for the Lay Women’s Institute in Cambridge. She and her husband, Gerry, have raised four sons and have eight grandchildren in whom they delight!
