finished_trippingTripping/ Biking Center

Out-trips have been a foundational part of Ontario Pioneer Camp's programs right from the beginning in 1929. Thousands of people have experienced God's creation first-hand through Pioneer's highly respected out-tripping programs. This program provides a unique camping experience that develops; leadership, confidence, a sense of accomplishment, character building, teamwork, friendships, and an appreciation of God's creation.

This new building is a focal point of the site and will help us accomplish the following:

Adequate space to pack trips and prepare food.
Adequately sized building in order to involve campers in trip preparation.
Indoor storage of equipment.
Area for map filing, resource library, and meeting space.
Sufficient space to expand the tripping program.
Source to store dry goods for 6 to 10 trips per week.
Hot and cold running water with a double sink.
Bike repair.
Accommodation for trippers and biking staff.
Site access by vehicles and trailers.

Thank you to our friends who rose to the challenge and helped us complete this building.

Girls Camp Health and Activity Center

The girls camp Health Center and Activity Building is a historic building located on the shores of Girls Camp. Originally the kitchen for the old Girls Camp Dining hall, it was built around 1939. The Girls Camp Health Center services 800-900 young women each summer. Due to structural needs, the building was raised and supported with temporary cribbing in 2004 and the final renovations were completed last year.gc_health-activity_center

The building houses a number of activities, including the craft program, meeting room and health center.

WIth the increasing health needs and complexities of campers, providing a proper health  center is essential for the successful operation of the camp.

Thank you to all who have generously supported this project. It is a great  addition to the girls camp program. This project was completed in time for our 2008 summer season.

Basketball Court

Ontario Pioneer Camp is building authentic communities that are sharing the example of Jesus with campers. Picture 110 Leaders-in-Training developed to best take God's message to the world. Imagine 160 of our kitchen and maintenance staff working hard each day in our 252 Program. Now, add to that 30 campers in our Woodland Challenge program- eager to get active in the outdoors.

This group of young people represents the population Clearwater site in a given summer. They are training for service to others and growing in their relationship with God. We want to provide a place to build this community spiritually, mentally, socially and physically.

A basketball court will be a focal point for all three programs. It will facilitate activities that will build community among large or small groups and be a tool for developing character, teamwork and physical skills.

At Ontario Pioneer Camp, we are helping paint the backdrop for the work God is doing in the lives of young people. Developing facilites like this basketball court will carve memories in the minds of our campers, create a place of connection between staff and campers- transforming young people for a lifetime in a genuine and simple way.

Thanks to you this project has been completed in time for Summer 2009. You have helped us transform future generations of campers by making a financial investment in this project and for that we are grateful.
