Year Round Ministry Opportunities

Ontario Pioneer Camp’s Year Round Ministry Team are a group of fun, motivated, hard-working individuals who love to connect to students in God’s creation. Outdoor Education Instructor and Host positions are available at OPC right now.

These positions are seassonal contract employment: September through June with longer stays possible for the right candidates. Monthly salary, including room and board, laundry facilities, phone, internet and use of equipment.

The primary responsibilities are: Preparation and instruction of outdoor activities, assisting and leading weekend and week day programs, ensuring that reasonable requests from groups are prompltly met, ensuring safe practices in surpervised activities, host/instruct and minister to our year round groups.

The position involves skills in:

Recreation (canoeing, mountain biking, cross-county skiing, hiking, etc.)

Outdoor Education (teaching a variety of classes centred around the natural environment)Adventure Based Learning (facilitating initative and team building games, low ropes courses, challenge courses)

In Outdoor Education, Instructors work with school groups who come to Pioneer for multi-day visits to provide academic, physical education, and recreational programming. These same staff also serve in host roles for rental groups who use Pioneer as a facility to run their own programming.
