Page 1 of 5 Woodland Challenge is a four-week co-ed program designed to give you the full Pioneer experience. Small numbers and a more intimate setting foster a more intense program and encourage a higher level of community involvement. Many 'Woodlanders' leave having made new friends that stick with them for life. At Woodland Challenge, you will experience all the fun and exciting activities of regular camp—plus a whole lot more. The ten day wilderness adventure is Ontario Pioneer’s longest and most diverse canoe trip. Each route is designed to meet the needs and skill level of the individual camper. Experienced tripping leaders, trained to lead a safe and unique backcountry experience, will focus on environmental concepts as we explore God’s creation throughout the program. You will learn many of the skills and techniques necessary for travel through the rugged northern Canadian landscape. Back at camp, you will get the opportunity to indulge in all the things Pioneer has offered for years – mountain biking, high ropes, waterslides, and more. Plus, you will get a chance to try a terrific variety of new activities, including overnight hikes, sleeping out under the stars, rock climbing, and whitewater kayaking, just to name a few. There is so much to experience—even the annual Eco-Challenge Adventure Race! We also provide in-depth instruction for both water sports (such as sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking) and land sports (like basketball, volleyball, archery, and of course Ultimate!). You will receive extensive training in swimming and canoeing from our experienced teachers and have the opportunity to earn an ORCA canoeing level and a Life Saving Society Bronze Certificate. In addition, each day brings the opportunity to explore faith issues in a small group format. The discussions are designed to discover what relevance our spiritual journeys have for our everyday lives. What kind of difference can God make in your life? Woodland Challenge is carefully crafted to be a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. You must have completed grade 9 to apply. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to discover everything Pioneer has to offer. Recommended Qualifications:
